Comedian shares secrets of job
By Nelsy Rodriquez, The Indio Sun
The moment she pulled off her sweater at a high school basketball game, Jodi Borrello knew she was meant to be a comic.
"I had 700, 800 people laughing at me, I kind of liked it," Borrello said, describing the feeling when she and the crowd discovered she had put on her team uniform backward.
Borrello will take the stage this weekend at The Improv and Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio. And, although she doesn't think about being a female comedian, she will be the first woman to grace that stage.
While standing in line at
the bank and hollering at friends passing through the streets of New Orleans,
the Louisiana native indulged The Indio Sun in a Q & A about the woman behind
the microphone.
Question: Who, living or dead, would you love to have in your audience?
Answer: Bobby Darin. He did so much with his life in a short period of time. I really think he stuck to his dreams from the beginning. He just had this vision of what he was going to become and he just did it. It wasn't about trying, he just did it, and I really respect that.
